Troon Golf-Managed Facilities Honored in Ranking’s 20^th Anniversary

Scottsdale, Ariz. – Troon Golf,^® the leader in upscale golf course management, development and marketing is pleased to recognize its managed facilities named to Golf Magazine’s “Best Golf Resorts” rankings for 2008. This year’s list marks the first time the magazine gave avid golfers the chance to participate in the process by voting on the magazine’s website. More than 8,000 golf enthusiasts offered their opinions to build the biennial guide listing the 75 greatest resort destinations in North America. In all, 12 Troon Golf-managed facilities were included in the following categories:

Gold Medal Resorts

One & Only Palmilla – Los Cabos, Mexico

Silver Medal Resorts

One & Only Ocean Club – Paradise Island, Bahamas

The Phoenician – Scottsdale, Ariz.

WaterColor Inn (Camp Creek Golf Club) – Panama City Beach, Fla.

The Westin La Cantera Resort – San Antonio, Texas

The Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa – Tucson, Ariz.

Additionally, Golf Magazine listed top picks for quality golf and accommodations in each region of the country in "Best in Your Area," and featured a section called "Keep Your Eye On," a look at up and coming resorts that could find their way onto the list in the near future. Troon Golf-managed facilities listed as “Best in Your Area” include One & Only Ocean Club, Caribbean; One & Only Palmilla, Mexico; Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale at Troon North, The Phoenician and The Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa, Arizona; WaterColor Inn (Camp Creek Golf Club), Florida; Giants Ridge Golf & Ski Resort, Midwest; Inn at Entrada, Rocky Mountains; and Foxwoods Resort Casino (Lake of Isles), Northeast. Temenos Anguilla St. Regis Resort earned recognition as a property to “Keep Your Eye On.”

Voting for the “Best Golf Resorts” was based on four criteria: golf, lodging, food & drink, and service. Forty percent of the resort recognition was based on golf, considering factors such as challenge, playability, scenery, history, facilities and service. The rest of the score was equally weighed among lodging, food & drink, and overall service at the resorts.
